Biography

MacedoniGregor Macedoni began his first term of office as the Mayor of the Urban Municipality of Novo mesto at the end of 2014. At the end of 2018, he was re-elected and began his second term of office as the Mayor. Before taking the office, he worked in economy sector, however, he has always cooperated by means of civil-society organizations at the local, national and international levels. Before holding the Mayor's position at the town hall, he was the CEO of the Trimo MSS company, the function which often required him to go on business trips around the world.

As the Mayor he strives to contribute to the vision of Novo mesto he had determined before the elections, namely, that Novo mesto will become a municipality where it is pleasant to live, work, study and entertain oneself. To realise this vision, he seeks to change the functioning of broader municipal systems and, in particular, to implement specific investments.

He was born in 1973 in Novo mesto where he attended both primary and secondary grammar school. Later he followed his desire to upgrade his knowledge and chose to study at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ljubljana. During his study years he participated actively in the student organization and he graduated with honours in 1997. Later on, he completed his postgraduate study of economy in Ljubljana while he was already working. His home is in Novo mesto together with his wife and their four children.

Draškovič

Sara Tomšič, policy analysis and public administration graduate is an active citizen from her highschool years onward. She was an advocate for youth policies in Ljubljana and Novo mesto, working for the National Youth Council of Slovenia. Versed of working in private and nongovernmental sector, managing teams and coordinating projects, she started to work at the Municipality of Novo mesto in 2014. With experiance ranging from public relations, marketing, advocacy, project management and policy creation, she joined the team of Municipality's current Mayor Gregor Macedoni, first as the Head of Mayor's office and later as a Deputy Mayor, incharge of development projects and Local Welfare System.

She lives in Novo mesto with her husband, son and daughter.

Mr Peter Kostrevc

Peter Kostrevc

Peter Kostrevc was born on July 3, 1970 in Novo Mesto, where he still lives with his family. After finishing the primary school, he continued his education at the Secondary School for Woodworking in Škofja Loka. He continued his studies at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, and during his studies he actively participated in various study activities at home and abroad, namely in Stuttgart, Germany. As a recipient of a scholarship from the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, after completing his studies in 2000, he was employed at the Ministry of the Environment, Space and Energy, at the Office for Spatial Development, where he also passed the professional state exam.

He was employed at the international commercial company LIDL, with a branch in Slovenia, where he looked after expanding the network of trade centres in the country. He continued his professional career in a construction company as a technical director, and then he ventured on new professional challenges in the URSA SLOVENIJA d.o.o. company, where he is still employed today as Quality Manager. As a product manager, he joined forces with external contractors and they prepared and implemented the URSA Akustika program. He also educated their users for the URSA Construction Physics and URSA Acoustics programs both in Slovenia and throughout the Western Balkans. Peter Kostrevc is licensed as an authorized architect and a member of the Supervisory Boards of state and public companies.

In addition to his regular work duties, he is also active in social areas of life. In the Committee of the Slovenian Democratic Party, he holds the position of vice president. He was elected to the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Novo mesto in the mandates 2014-2018, 2018-2022 and 2022-2026 on the list of Slovenian Democratic Party. He is a member of the Committee for the Environment, Space, Utilities and Transport, and the Committee for Monitoring the Situation of the Roma Community. During two terms, he also actively participated in the Council of KS Bučna vas. In the last mandate, he performed his function as deputy mayor actively, with the desire to contribute to an even greater quality of life for the citizens and the development of the Novo mesto Municipality.

He devotes most of his free time to his family, as well as to preserving nature and wildlife, as he is an active member of the Padež Hunting Club, where he is also a member of the hunting club’s Board of Directors.

Mr Matija Škof

Matija Škof

Matija Škof was born in 1976 in Kranj. After completing his secondary education at the Novo Mesto grammar school, he continued his studies in Ljubljana, where he obtained the title of professor of special pedagogy. Shortly after finishing he decided to enter the business world and, together with his partners, they founded the Elaborat company, which specializes in the analysis and development of digital tools. To this day, he actively performs the roles of business manager and marketing manager in this company. At the same time, he played a key role in the establishment of the NETFORK Academy for digital business, where the systematic development of competencies for digital business was implemented in Slovenia for the first time. He is also the director of the Institute for Digital Excellence WEBSI, which has been awarding the most prestigious awards for digital projects in Slovenia for decades −the WEBSI Digital Surplus of Slovenia.

He has lived in Novo Mesto all his life. In the periods between 2014 and 2018 and between 2018 and 2022, he was a member and president of the Local Community Council Center Novo Mesto. In the 2022 local elections, he was the holder of the Gibanje Svoboda Political Party list and the head of the local initiative committee of this party. In 2022, he started working as deputy mayor, where he is in charge of digitization and development projects and the introduction of participatory budgeting in the Municipality of Novo Mesto. In addition, he actively participates as a member of the Committee for Economy and the Commission for Mandate Issues, Elections and Appointments.

In his free time, he likes to travel, to organize concerts and other events, he is devoted to sports, especially tennis, kayaking, skiing and hiking. In addition, he participates in the Pomlad Novo Mesto mixed choir and in the DECI vocal group.
